Gray Inspiration Kitchen Tour

It is an absolute honor to have the very first kitchen I feature on my blog be this amazing one from Stonington Cabinetry & Designs. This stunning kitchen served as the inspiration for my kitchen design in the farmhouse I am currently building, which you can follow on Instagram. With four kids, a large extended family and many friends, our kitchen is a continually buzzing place, so while I love an all-white kitchen, it is not the best design choice for this stage of our lives. The warmth of the gray cabinetry partnered with all the natural wood creates such an inviting, classic yet trendy look. I know a lot of you love this kitchen as much as I do, so I hope you enjoy this tour! Make sure to take notes as I will be providing links for almost everything you see, including that gorgeous runner that I get asked about constantly!

A little more about Stonington Cabinetry & Design, they are a family owned and operated company serving parts of New Jersey. Over thirty years ago, they were started as a construction company by mom and dad, Karen and Robert. Their sons, Justin and Tyler, joined the family business and turned the focus to creating a design studio that offered a quality line of custom cabinetry. Additionally, they offer truly unparalleled design and installation services that focus on attention to detail and design craftsmanship. They specialize in high-end kitchens and provide a commitment to excellence that shows in their impeccable, immaculate, impressive designs. You can follow them on Instagram, @the_brothers_stonington.

Now that we have introduced the skilled craftsman behind the work, let’s start our tour!

Rather than just installing floating shelves, The Stonington Brothers chose to incorporate this latest design trend into their upper cabinetry. Their twist on this trend provides a more timeless, traditional and classic look while still providing the ability to beautifully display unique pieces and integrate natural wood into the cabinets. The simple construction of the shaker style cabinet doors also lends themselves to the timeless style of this kitchen.

Though most designs look best in odd numbers, choosing two larger pendant lights rather than three smaller ones was a fabulous choice in this design. The pendant light over the sink ties in to balance out the look and the shape of these lights adds a modern twist to this kitchen. If you have followed me for very long, you know I am a huge fan of windows over the kitchen sink. Not only does it make the dishes seem like less of a chore, it allows me to watch my kids playing while I am work. Additionally, the natural light streaming in enhances the beauty of the entire space.
