While there are countless modern white farmhouses on Instagram, one builder, in particular, has repeatedly impressed me with their intricate and luxurious approach to this style of home . Pike Properties builds some of the most beautiful, perfectly detailed modern farmhouses I have ever seen. On their Instagram, they walk their followers through their process from the design phase to completion. I have been honored to feature them several times on my Instagram, and I am so excited to give you a full tour of one of their homes today! I have worked with them to get detailed information on everything from paint colors to where you can purchase the products used in their homes! So grab a cup of coffee and maybe a pen and paper to jot down the things you love, and join me on a tour of a modern farmhouse from Pike Properties!
Being able to build a home to your lot is one of the major perks of building a custom home. You are not trying to make a pre-designed home work on a lot that is just not fit for it. In this situation, Pike Properties found themselves needing to build a long, skinny home to fit the lot. Looking at the front of this home, you would never guess it is actually a three-story home! They designed the front to look like a two story to be more in tune with the surrounding homes. In total, the home boasts 4,422 square feet with 6 bedrooms and 4 and one-half baths. They added so many elements to the exterior to add visual interest and create dimension. For instance, they used wide Hardie siding on the first level but chose to use skinnier planks on the second level. This creates depth and visual interest but keeps it from being too busy with the vertical lines of the garage door, metal roofing and porch railings. The exposed rafter tails, wood accents, and that gorgeous gable bracket tie everything together to complete this perfect custom modern farmhouse exterior.

Siding: James Hardie
Wood Stain: Benjamin Moore Hidden Valley
Windows: Plygem 1500 series
Roof: Black architectural shingles with black metal accenting over porch and garage
Personally, I believe the heart of every home is the kitchen and what a stunning heart this is! With natural lighting coming in from all sides, this kitchen is bright and airy while at the same time cozy and welcoming. I’ve been asked before if I feel gray kitchen cabinets will go out of style. My answer? Absolutely not! If you study the science of gray and the feelings that it invokes in us, I feel it is the perfect color choice for kitchen cabinetry! Gray adds warmth, style, and tranquility. The solid wood maple top on the island is perfectly contrasted with the white granite on the outside counter, yet again adding dimension to this beautiful kitchen. Like a traditional barn door, sometimes you will see X’s on the ends of islands. However, Pike Properties chose to incorporate this element into the ceiling trim! The 3×6 subway tile is carried all the way to the ceiling, taking it from a traditionally expected backsplash to a statement wall. The kitchen work triangle principle is applied perfectly in this kitchen, allowing for unimpeded movement when entertaining and prepping meals.

How cozy is this little breakfast nook just off the kitchen? Used for more casual meals or maybe just a cup of coffee while chatting with a neighbor, this comfy area with its built-in seating and gorgeous views provides the perfect relaxed setting for conversation.

Just to the right of the kitchen, directly next to the dining room, lies the Butler’s Pantry. What a lovely space for entertaining! In addition to the extra prep space it would give you, it could also be used as a buffet or maybe a dessert station! Additionally, it boasts an overflow fridge and freezer drawers and a beverage cooler for extra storage.

Directly parallel to the Butler’s Pantry, we find the most fantastic dining room table ever! The raw, rustic, riveting tabletop add incredible character to this room! The exposed beams and that stunning chandelier combine with the table to make this a true modern farmhouse dining room!

Yet again, the natural light in this home is just amazing! This entire wall of windows makes indoor/outdoor living feel seamless. The coffered ceiling adds dimension and a bit of formality to this living space. In some homes, the fireplace is the focal point. However, Pike Properties did an amazing job of making the entire wall feel like a statement wall by perfectly balancing the bookshelves, textured wallpaper and a simple mantle with the fireplace. If you look closely, you will see the wallpaper is cut to fit inside each individual cubby. What a great way to make separate spaces feel more uniform!
Stairs are hard enough when just installing regular wood floors; however, Pike Properties took the time to turn this staircase into a work of art! They were inspired by Joanna Gaines to use shiplap to create this stunning, eye-catching pattern.
Though some people shy away from carrying wood floors into their bathrooms for fear of water damage, words cannot describe the beauty these white oak floors add to this stunning master bathroom. The furniture style vanities, abundant natural lighting, and that gorgeous antique style clawfoot tub make this space feel luxuriously spa-like.

Remember the seamless indoor/outdoor area I mentioned earlier? This is the outdoor portion of that fabulous entertaining area. Having a covered porch large enough to house a second living area allows outdoor entertaining almost year round. The fantastic brick fireplace with its cedar mantle, not only provides beauty but will provide warmth during the colder months.
