North Carolina Modern Farmhouse

This beautiful home that belongs to Elaine from @NCModernFarmhouse proves that the farmhouse chic décor trend is never going out of style. Classic lines, colors, and simple pieces are always in style because they always work, no matter what’s currently trending. A kitchen, dressed up in the new obsession over marble, white and gold, still looks lovely with the warm flooring, wood beams, and wide open windows.

The house is nestled in the midst of nature with curb-appeal calling your name before you even pull into the tree-lined driveway. There’s just something about a lined driveway that makes you feel like you’re entering an Ivy school or an VIP’s mansion, setting the tone for this humble residence. The French doors and windows covering this beautiful house allows for a light and airy feeling once inside, brightening up the dark woods found throughout the home.

The details weren’t missed when designing this home with every little piece tying each room together, no matter if you’re in the stylish office, the warm bedrooms, the cozy living room, or the functional and spacious kitchen.

Let’s talk about this living room, people. The wood beams complement the rooms’ aesthetic, taking it all the way into the fireplace with a beautiful distressed piece of wood acting as the mantel. Because everything is so neutral and effortless, adding a pop of color like the green chair brings a bit of whimsy to the room. Bonus: since the furniture and décor is so artfully arranged, the first thing you see when viewing this room isn’t the TV!

White and gold is back! Instead of appliances that stand out like a sore thumb in a home, these melt right into the décor, complementing this beautiful and functional kitchen instead of fighting with it. The open-concept to the living room allows for easy meals had and prepped with the kids. A breakfast nook surrounded by windows adds extra room to the living space and casual meals are dressed up by the antique hutch tucked away, yet still shining, in the corner.

Who says laundry rooms have to be boring? This one hits all of the functional bits and pieces while making it a space that you actually want to hang out in! Laundry room with gingham wallpaper? Count me in! The black and gold faucet adds an elegant touch to your laundry sink. Lighter cabinets on top with darker on the bottom makes the room feel more spacious and complements the wallpaper and marble countertop. The two cabinet system offers additional space for cleaning products, clothespins, and can even double as a potting station in the warmer months of the year. Functionality wasn’t forgotten with laundry sorters and bars to hang those clothes that can’t go in the dryer or need a quick steam. A plant in front of a large, airy window and décor above the washer and dryer brings some home-fresh vibes into this room.

The main bathroom, in the same mix of soft and dark woods, white and black metal gives a sleek, yet warm vibe. The light fixture adds a bit of fun, mixing industrial with the tried-and-true farmhouse look. The en-suite was reserved for a little more glamour, complete with a gorgeous, marbled, walk-in shower and a tub with a view.
