Timber Trails is blazing a new trail in the home construction world. Rather than having to pick a house, choose your designs and wait a year for it to be built, Timber Trails owner Brian Taylor brought in Julie Howard as an in-house designer. This partnership allows home buyers to feel like they are purchasing a custom home without the long wait.
Julie has been designing homes for years and, with three children of her own, has a grasp on the intricacies of family living. Their homes are not just beautifully designed but highly functional. From coffered ceilings and shiplap to large mudrooms and spacious kitchens, these ready built homes boast the latest design trends with no need to wait to move in! As we tour one of their amazing homes today, you will see the detail that goes into every space of their homes.

With a white exterior contrasted with the black roof and windows, this home is a classic modern farmhouse. Using metal roofing over just the porches not only adds visual interest but is a very cost effective way to incorporate metal. Stunning four lite black windows and front door are the perfect choice for the modern farmhouse look. Incorporating traditional barn door X’s on their garage door continues the farmhouse aesthetic.

Who needs grand staircases, two-story vaults or large picture windows to make a gorgeous foyer? With opulent wallpaper, luxurious gold finishes and dramatic lighting, this foyer steps away farmhouse aesthetic we saw outside and sets the tone for the modern, sophisticated interior decor we are about to see.

While this home already has one office, Julie chose to stage the formal dining room as a second office to show the flexibility of the space. In both rooms statement walls, coffered ceilings and magnificent lighting reflect a sophisticated aesthetic that is both dramatic and refined.

Just off the foyer is a long hallway that connects the main rooms of the house. How adorable is this built in seating area at the end of it? I can totally envision one of my girls curled up with a good book in her hand in this sweet little nook. This is one of the little details that make Timber Trail’s homes feel like a custom home!

A build in buffet in the hallway between the kitchen and the dining room provides a perfect spot to display food or drinks when entertaining. I love the custom detailing on the buffet like the split turning legs that give it a truly custom feel. Changing the wood floors to a herringbone pattern in this area added visual interest and defined this space as more than just a pass through.

While the perimeter cabinetry is standard white, that is about the only thing standard in this sleek, stylish gourmet kitchen! Choosing to paint the island in Iron Mountain provides visual interest. Glass front cabinetry allows beautiful dishes to be displayed without installing the more trendy floating shelves. Top of the line appliances with a very spacious cooktop makes this every home chef’s dream kitchen. Furniture fronts on the appliances give the kitchen a seamless look.

I cannot get enough of the leaded windows in the breakfast nook! They add so much character and act as a statement wall. The built in bench provides maximum seating and charm and is yet another example of how every detail in this home was carefully planned.

How absolutely adorable are these three cozy spaces in this house? The Victorian home my grandmother lived in when I was growing up had little spaces like these and I remember loving them so much! I would curl up in them with a good book and snuggle the afternoon away!

Basement
One thing that struck me about the design of this house is the two very distinct living areas. Upstairs is elegant and refined while the basement living space feels more comfortable and livable. You could host a fun, exciting party downstairs without worrying about messing up your main living area. The downstairs space has an open layout made for entertaining, but the exposed trusses and fieldstone fireplace keep it feeling rustic, warm and welcoming.
